1800s Antique Victorian Seed Bead Chatelaine Skirt Clip Purse w/Beaded Loop Trim. This amazing little carry purse was handmade approximately 130 years ago! It appears to have been crafted from black velvet, originally, but that has mostly faded to the blue/gray now seen due to age. The black seed beads are still largely intact, including the stunning beaded loop fringe along the bottom of the purse. The purse is held by two chains which attach to a chatelaine skirt/belt clip. It is not marked for sterling but is silver in color and decorated with an ornate "bow" design on the front of the clip. The interior is tan with signs of age and use. It is unclear if the purse was sewn with the blue thread seen in the photos, or if it was used for repairs at one time. This antique little purse has a lot of life left for the right owner and would make a great addition for a collector, or the dressing Victorian lady!
