We are pleased to offer for auction this Child's Sled still with Original Paint made by Paris Manufacturing Company. This is being offered with No Reserve! This is a wooden sled made by the Paris Manufacturing Co. in Paris, Maine in about 1890. It still retains much of its Original Green Paint and beautiful patina. It is decorated with a beautiful Horse. There are two rows of flowers stenciled in mustard paint , one above and one below the horse. On the underside of the platform is stamped "Made by PARIS MFG CO. South Paris, ME. U.S.A. No. 54" Paris Manufacturing Company began in 1861 and was a maker of children's sleds, skis, wagons, rolltop desks and other items. This sled has an interesting note typed and stapled also on its underside explaining how its life was saved and is still in existence today. It says "All Wood Sled Paris Mfg Co. Followed truck full of junk to O.P. dump site, took after he left. 1964." This sled has open runners curving upward. It measures 36"l x 13"w x 10"h. The runners have had some restoration to repair a few breaks that it received over the years.
