1800s Empire Mahogany (believedto be Mahoganyveneer)Secretary Bookcase With Slant Top DeskThis piece is from the mid 1800s and was used in the old courthouse in Monticello, Ga. in a judges chambers. See the info in the last picture.The secretary is approximately 90 1/2" tall x 21" deep x 42 1/2" wide.The bookcase top has 2 drawers and 3 shelves. The flip down desk has 2 inkwell holes and a pens slot.The base has one drawer that is utilized as the slant top desk support, and a 2 door cabinet with one shelf. It has great patina and there are multiple pieces of the veneering that have chipped off during it's use.The bookcase top fits in a track on the base and lifts off for easier transportation.Free local pick up only.
