For sale is a rare silk cigar band quilt or square. It dates from the late 1800's and is mostly orange, but also has bands of red, blue, yellow, green. Some of the names on the bands are: Blackstone,West Point Cadets, Golden Wedding, Pearl,Brown University, Board of Trade,Allen Maid, A Hot One & Parlor Club to name a few. It measures 42 1/2" square and is bordered in an orange with a yellowish lace. Some of the lace has come unsewn from the border, but can easily be repaired. Also, the border does have some slits in the fabric due to the age. It is in over great condition, no tears in the cigar bands. The backing is an orange material which has not been directly quilted to the front, just sewn around the edges. Thanks for looking.
