1801 Ackermann Salon Architecture Regency Interior RARE Description ** PLEASE VISIT MY EBAY SHOP FOR OTHER PLATES FROM THIS SERIES ** An exceptionally rare sepia aquatint published by the great Rudolph Ackermann in 1801. They come from a work called: ' Desseins a l'usage des Architectes, Tapissiers et formant une collection de plans et sections pour les appartemens ' Volume 1. So this is a plate from an original Regency furnishing manual. I have not been able to find any information at all about this volume anywhere on the Internet, so this is your only chance to pick up some exceptionally rare , original architectural plans of Regency period rooms. This one shows a Regency interior with a doorway , fanlight and other fittings. Amazingly detailed and includes a separate plan on another piece of paper. Condition : good but the lower righthand corner has been attacked by damp and the corner has been eaten away. The lower edge is discoloured with some staining which extends up the right edge. However, these faults could easily be improved by the framing process. Tissue guard is still in place. Measures approx: 13.2" x 12". Please ensure that an item is suitable, by asking any questions before bidding. Many thanks for your interest!
