On offer is aninteresting French medallion commemorating Marie Rabutin de Sévigne The silver plated bronze medallion, dated 1816, is in good (GVF) condition – just a few, minor surface scratches. Marie de Rabutin-Chantal, Marquise de Sévigne (1626-1696) was famed for her letter writing. Her letters were published in the early 18th Century. This is one of the GALERIE METALLIQUE DES GRANDS HOMMES FRANÇAIS series of 119 portrait medallions honouring noteworthy French men and women. Please take a look at my other items currently on eBay
