This is a really fascinating book. I don't usually deal in antique books but could not pass this one up. It was published in 1817 and is a compilation of domestic recipes . It was written by D. Hughson and appears to be a first edition. It includes cooking, medicine, candy making, distilling, brewing, preserving, dyeing, perfumes, gilding, agriculture....and on and on. Part of what is fun is that there is no apparent order: detecting poison in your wine will be right next to how to make creamed peas. But there is a page numbered index in the back to help find things. It is in alphabetical order. The book does have some condition issues. The biggest of them is the bottom left corner of the cover that is pretty much gone. The book itself remains nice and tight and the inside is good except for the foxing of the pages. The book itself measures about 10.5 by 8.5 and has about 375 pages.
