I'm offering a lovely selection of antique and vintage smalls and collectibles this week, check out my other auctions, shipping is gladly combined to save you money! Beautiful sterling silver Fiddle pattern serving spoon features an ornate, repousse gold wash bowl. The bowl is deep, and has scalloped edges, with intricately patterned fruits including pineapple, grapes, pomegranate and oranges. I believe this is English sterling, made by William Eley Jr. and William Fearn circa 1824 - 1826. Please research the hallmarks to confirm for yourself. This appears to have WE over WF, Lion Passant, Leopard Head, lower case h, gentleman's bust, C. Condition is excellent. T is no damage and only very slight signs of use, the gold wash on the interior of the bowl is strong and lovely. This measures 8-5/8" long and is 1-7/8" wide at the widest point. This weighs 2.4 ounces on my new postal scale. A great addition to your collection! Please see my other auctions for more lovely sterling silver flatware!
