1826 Erie Canal Completion So-Called Dollar MS64 NGC. HK-1. White metal, 45 mm. First in the Hibler-Kappen reference and the icon of the so-called dollars. This is an unworn, strongly textured example with a rich gold-gray overtone to much of each side and pale "white" surfaces elsewhere. Of particular interest to so-called dollar collectors is that this lot comes with the presentation case, a circular casket made from wood in the first shipment down the Erie Canal which has the famous inscription "Presented by the City of New York" in the lid. Grade: 64, Service: NGC, Service No.: 661050, Issue Date: 1050, Denomination: MS
