You are bidding on a 171 year old, very rare and 100% original and authentic antique map of the above region from the 1835 first edition of the Comprehensive Atlas by the famous cartographer Thomas Bradford. Bradford's Comprehensive Atlas launched him as one of the prominent cartographic publishers of the period. This and his larger atlases, published first in 1838, were one of the most popular of the period. The current selling price for an 1835 complete Bradford atlas such as this is around $5,000. Single maps from this atlas sell for hundreds of dollars. General Description: 1.Interesting and very detailed map from the 1835 edition of Bradford's Comprehensive Atlas. The map is outline colored by regions and shows towns, rivers, lakes, bays, harbors, islands and other important places. All of the shown handcoloring is original and was not added to the map. Beautiful colored sage green border as issued. 2. The map is in almost perfect condition considering that the map is 171 years old!!! The overall size of the map sheet is approximately 9 inches by 12 inches. The map is printed on very heavy paper stock.3. The map is a 100% orignal and genuine antique map.
