A low mintage, high grade silver 1/2 franc An obverse die engraving oddity: A cedilla punch should have been used in the word FRANCAIS. Instead the cedilla has been formed with two separate punches, a normal C and a squiggle punch to make the tail. The squiggle punch is deeper than the letter C, so there is bold distinction.
