1838 REEDED EDGE CAPPED BUST HALF "HALF DOL." VARIETY NGC VF 25 LUSTER REMAINS WITHIN MS LIBERTY'S COIFFURE. Light coin grey tending to vanilla, and some color on the upper obverse rim. Christian Gobrecht's new, more mature Ms. Liberty replaced John Reich's younger, more flippant image, and the Motto and scroll were removed from the reverse. The two varieties of RE halves are "50 CENTS", 1836 & 1837, and "HALF DOL." 1838 & 1839.
