Here is a TERRIFIC 10 X 16 inch 1839 Martin Van Buren Signed Presidential Land Grant for land in Vincennes, Indiana for a Joseph Harrison. It is ornately written, and signed by Van Buren 's son, which is Quite RARE, as he was secretary for his father. The grant is in nice condition, on heavy vellum stock that has the normal fold lines from being safely tucked away in the Land Office for well over a century. This particular grant still has the valued Land Office Seal attached and is an official period document. The seal is faded from age, but present. I cannot stress enough display value of this grant and several others that I will be listing on ebay as I thin out my personal presidential collection. The ornate handwriting is a lost art, with a family member signature making this quite a conversation piece. It would look regal framed in your collection or office. From time to time, a real treasure is found in these grants, and this one is quite RARE. It was part of a group that we are handling, and a significant document.
