1840 South Carolina Land Deed (Copy) in Newberry District by D. Moore, EmbossedItem Description & Condition Details. A beautifully handwritten copy of a land deed by D. Moore (surveyor) to Charles, Wiley, William, and Alfred Bridges created in 1840. The front of the document seems to suggest that William Bridges is giving Charles the land. The 2 " acre plot is located in the Newberry District of the state of South Carolina. The deed is embossed with a seal as shown in the photos (illegible). The document is written on standard quality paper and is in good condition with the following issues noted: foxing and toning of the paper; staining along the fold lines (hand oils); small tears along the fold lines on both fold and both sides; mechanical strength of the paper seems reduced.
