This 353 page hardback book is titled Vestiges of the Natural History of Creation . Published anonymously, it was written by Robert Chambers. Originally published in 1844, it was not until the 12 th edition that the author’s name was disclosed. The copy I am offering is the stated third edition (from the third London edition), published in New York in 1845 by Wiley and Putnam of New York. There is loss to approximately 60% of the spine cover and the book has a lean. The hinges are sound. There is dampstains evident to the rear endpapers and the front board. The boards are worn. Printings before 1846 are not common; the least expensive one on ABE is priced at $200.00.
