Stanton"), to Caleb Swan, M.D., at Easton, Mass.Scarce autograph letter signed (ALS), of HENRY B. STANTON, (1805-1887), a leading Abolitionist figure before the Civil War, and one of the premier Anti-Slavery orators of his time, he also contributed articles to the NY Tribune, the NY Sun, and William Lloyd Garrison's "Anti-Slavery Standard" & "The Liberator". Husband of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, (1815-1902), Suffragist, social activist, abolitionist & a leading figure of the early Women's rights movement. He married Elizabeth Cady in 1840, and their wedding trip was spent in Europe, where Henry B. Stanton was a delegate to the World's Anti-Slavery Convention, and he gave Anti-Slavery speeches in various European cities.
