1847 ROGERS BROS. OLD COLONY PIERCED TOMATO SERVER Up for auction is this gorgeous 1847 Rogers Bros. Pierced Tomato Server made by International Silver in the collectible OLD COLONY pattern. This classic pattern dates back to 1911 and has since been discontinued. This server measures 7 1/2 inches long and is stamped with "1847 ROGERS BROS." and "XS TRIPLE " on the back of the handle. It also has a circle with some kind of markings in it, but I can't make out what they are. The server is in wonderful condition, showing only light scratching on the serving end and the handle is in excellent condition as well and appears to have seen limited use in the years gone by. This piece is monogrammed with what looks like the letter "E", however the etching is fairly light, and in my opinion, does not detract from the desirability of the server whatsoever. It holds a beautiful shine and the overall richness and quality of this piece would enhance any table. I usually don't consider monogrammed pieces for purchase, but this orphaned server caught my eye at a multi-estate auction sale. It was on its own, nearly buried among other flatware sets, however, none of the sets were Old Colony. So, how this server came to be abandoned and on its own is a mystery.
