1848 Braided Hair Large Cent vulgar defacing on reverse holed

I am not a coin grader but this is a nice looking cent, except for the fact that it is holed and it has a vulgar defacing on the reverse, likely done by some lonely Civil War soldier or something. Apparently a common defacing.
