1849 samuel graham Jacquard Coverlet Blue Indigo / Cream We have decided to part with our beautiful vintage Jacquard indigo and cream antique coverlet. It has been in the family for almost 160 years. It is a reversible, double woven ( 78âe(tm) x 92âe(tm)) wool on linen coverlet with eagles, olive branches and flower baskets with tulips and dated 1849. This authentic historic textile is approximately 8 lbs. and finely woven; a work of art created to be a prized heirloom. A local antique dealer informed us that although it is common to find coverlets with some of the details this one has, it is uncommon to find one that has them all, including the pin dots, and she felt it was too valuable to keep in her consignment shop. Tfore, we brought it home and are putting it up for auction. We have attempted to represent the coverlet realistically (showing in the pictures the age related yellowing and fringe frays etc.) although we did find this information on that subject. The coverlet has not yet been cleaned or restored. After first posting the coverlet we were kindly notified by another great eBayer that our coverlet is a Samuel Graham; a well known weaver from Henry County in Indiana.
