Description: It is an original copper engraved antique historical map designed by Duvotenay under the direction of Barbie du Bocage and Dufour. It has vibrant handcoloring as issued and a nice decorative border. It is from Bocage's Atlas Illustre, published in Paris: Basset, 1852. A copy of the title page is included for authenticity. an interesting map showing the borders of California in 1819 and 1849. Texas is shown as a heart shaped Republic, showing both the 1849 border and as part of Mexico with International borders and that includes New Mexico. It is a strange map, so I have included an enlarged pic of Texas so you can see for yourself what is going on with the borders. The Western USA is also divided into Territories rather than states. Size: The map image measures approximately 9 by 12 inches on a 10 by 13 1/2" page with a margin of an inch or more all around for framing. Condition: The map is in Good condition with overall light tonal aging and a nice antique patina. T is a hint of a dampstain along the edge of the margin and a notch out of the bottom left corner, which will be hidden once matted. It is a strong impression with vibrant original color, blank on the reverse side. In general, the map is very clean with no distracting defects to mention. This map has aged well with a rich patina that will frame up nicely with an antique appearance as desired. See the pics for more details of condition. Payment Details: We accept Money Orders, Paypal and Personal Checks from buyers with a positive feedback record. We only accept credit cards and bank transfers through Paypal or Bidpay, see links on page. International Bidders are welcomed and encouraged, however we do not accept bank to bank transfers because of the high costs in the US unless buyers wants to pay the $20 fee. If another payment method is desired let us know in advance and we will try to accomondate. Payment is expected within 10 days. Nonpaying Bidders will be reported to Ebay and negative feedback will be left. Shipping: $5 for Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation in the USA and $5 by International Airmail to Canada. $7 for International Airmail elsew in the world, except Italy, or $20 for insured International Priority Airmail. We only ship to Italy by Insured International Priority Mail, $20. Please note these rates are very close to actual postage rates. No additional postage on multiple maps shipped together with the first, so we are glad to ship as many maps as you want for the shipping fee of the largest map. Insurance rates: We recommended and offer optional low insurance of $2.00 for up to $100 of value and $3 up to $200, etc; For international buyers who desire insurance, the Priority International mail is the best option since Insurance is included.
