A Genuine Original Antique 1852 MAP of the MIDWESTERN STATES including OHIO, INDIANA, KENTUCKY, MICHIGAN, ILLINOIS, MISSOURI, and IOWA from S. Augustus Mitchell's School and Family Geography Atlas. The map shows states individually hand watercolored with early railroads and canals of the time period. At least 6 canals are shown across Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois connecting the Great Lakes to the Ohio/Mississippi River system. Individual counties are shown and named and many larger towns have population figures printed next to them. The Old National Road is shown from Pennsylvania cutting across Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois, ending at St. Louis. The map is in very good condition, printed on heavy fine quality paper, t is a LOT of detail in this map. Map measures 11 1/2 by 18 inches and would look great matted and framed. Nice ORIGINAL antique map(I do not sell reproductions) published a decade prior to The CIVIL WAR.
