The minions of Slave power are detested by the majority of the people here as a venimos reptile."He mentions the trial of Booth & Rycraft for violation of the Fugitive Slave law, fined and sent to prison. When released "they were followed by three thousand of respectable people in procession."Plus, discussion of crop prices, suffering back east and a rush for Iowa land. Land prices rising ever since the "iron horse made his appearance on the Prairie."Beautifully penned. VG cond.
