Life of George Washington Washington Irving 1856-1857; New York: G. P. Putnam and Co.; about 7 1/2" X 5 /12"; dark green cloth; gilt to spines; two stamped medallions on cover of volume 1; embossed decoration on cover of volumes 2 & 3. Volume 1, 459pp., frontispiece of George Washington; Volume 2, 486pp. frontispiece of Maj. Gen Philip Schulyer; Volume 3, 483pp, frontis of Major General Israel Putnam. Condition: 3 volumes all in very good shape. Tight bindings, clean covers, clean interiors. Very strong copies. Minor toning to spines, corners very good, covers clean, minor wear at heads and feet of spine covers - very short tears. Almost no foxing except a tiny bit at the tissue guarded frontispieces.
