This is an 1857 dated 2 Frederiks D'Or gold coin from Denmark (Krause catalog number is KM-750.3) that has just been certified as "AU-58 Details, Cleaned" by ANACS. Frankly we think they were a bit hard on the piece, as it only has some minor hairlines on the obverse (heads) side, mostly in the fields, and in our opinion they are not offensive in the slightest. As you can see, the coin is well struck and has a wonderful overall look. This is a very scarce item and a "must-have" for any collector of Danish or world gold. We should place a reserve on this to protect our investment, but if you follow our auctions you know that we don't like reserves.
