Andy Rosenblum R-3132796 ~Description of rare United States coin~ Please note: We sell coins from many different third party grading companies. We buy all of our coins based upon eye appeal, not the grade on the holder or the company that assigned the grade. Keep in mind that the grade on the holder is the opinion of the independent grading company, and theirs alone. Our photographs are enlarged many times, showing imperfections that would often be invisible to the human eye. Imperfections, such as bag marks, are more evident on smaller coins, as these are greatly enlarged in our images. Since all of our photos are shot through third party grading company holders, there are instances where marks, scratches, and other artifacts appear to be on the coin when they're actually on the plastic holder. In these cases, we'll mention such in the description of the coin. Presented is one of the rarest coins still in existence, an incredible 1858-C $2.50 Liberty Head Gold Quarter Eagle. This amazing coin is judged to be in AU58 condition. It exhibits a very bold strike, beautiful mint luster, and gorgeous gold coloring. The total survival estimate for this coin in all conditions is a scant 225 pieces, only 20 of which are rated higher than AU state. We know that the most avid collector will be delighted owning this gorgeous gold coin, and we sincerely thank you for taking the time to view our listing. ( Our goal is to provide unique, and extremely scarce United States coinage. We strive for 100% customer satisfaction, and always go out of our way to make sure that our customers are treated with the utmost respect and professionalism. Millions of U.S. gold coins were recalled to the U.S. treasury in 1933 where they were melted into gold bars and forever destroyed. From 1933 to 1975, it was a crime to purchase or possess gold coins. As a result, certain dates have become nearly extinct, making them almost priceless in the eyes of collectors. Even the more common dates are becoming increasingly scarce. Only a tiny fraction of the original mintages have survived to this day. Today, almost all of the desirable specimens, such as we sell, have been reduced to just a few thousand (or less) of most years, making them among the scarcest of any coins ever minted in the U...
