This an amazing 8 volume set of books titled The Faiths of the World by the Rev James Gardner, M D and AM. It was published by A Fullarton & Co of London. This set of books was designed to be bound into two volumes. This set was issued prior to that set and this is basically a demo or preview copy that was sent out by subscription only. The books give an unbiased view of various worldwide religions and their practises. The highlight of the book is the engravings. T are several hundred high quality and very beautiful pieces of artwork throughout. The books are in excellant condition internally with no issues. Some of the volumes have external spine damage.
