This Springfield Armory sword was made between 1873-1890 in the style of an 1860 Staff and Field officer,s sword and is not from the civil war. Sword and scabberd are both in excellent condition. The blade etchings are clear, clean and crisp. The pommal and guard are lightly tarnished and patined, the handle and twisted wire are intact and in very good condition. The scabberd is clean and shiny, initials are etched on the side of the drag, "N". I know it's been in the family for more than 100years and believe it was collected in the 1890's.
