We are very pleased to offer an 1860s Civil War-era brass uniform button, with a Roman figure holding a spear and sword embossed in the center, " SIC SEMPERT TYRANNIS " at the bottom, and a half ring of stars, around the top periphery. The back has an attached loop shank and is marked, " WATERBURY BUTTON CO. / WATERBURY, CONN. ". It's not marked "VIRGINIA" but I believe this is a Virginia Confederate button. It measures 3/4" in diameter and is in very good condition, with no damage and light surface wear/discoloration to the top surface. A very desirable and attractive addition to a Civil War military memorabilia collection! The winning bidder pays shipping costs. Good luck, and thanks for looking!
