This is an early-war, Ohio Governor hand signed officers commission for the 1st Ohio Reserve in May 1861. The soldier's name is First Lieutenant A.V. Thompson (Abram V.), a Militia Officer that later served as a Captain with the 20th Ohio Volunteer Militia (3-months). The best part is that it has been hand signed by William Dennison popular War Governor of the State of Ohio during the Civil War. It is framed in its original faded gilded wood frame measuring 13-1/2" by 10-3/4". It was protected well with no splits, bright ink and hardly any foxing. Check out my other items !
