The book is illustrated with 8 steel plate hand colored double page maps by J.H. Colton. They are: 1.Virginia, Maryland & Delaware, 2.North & South Carolina, 3.Georgia, Alabama, & Florida, 4.Mississippi & Louisiana, 5.Texas, 6.Arkansas & Indian Territory, 7.Kentucky & Tennessee, 8.Missouri & Kansas. At the front of the book is a large folding map by A.J. Johnson - Johnson's New Military Map Of The United States Showing Forts, Military Posts, etc. With Enlarged Plans of Southern Harbors. T are inserts around the bottom and right edge of 9 Harbors: New Orleans, Mobile Bay, Pensacola Bay, Key West, Savannah River, Charleston Harbor, Hampton Roads, Washington DC, Baltimore. At the rear of the book is a large A.J. Johnson folding map - Johnson's Map Of The Vicinity Of Richmond And Penninsular Campaign In Virginia. The covers are heavily worn and t is black tape over the spine (see picture). Some of the pages have chipped corners and a few are loose. This book is ex-library with the usual markings.
