You are bidding on an attractive pocket sized leather Civil War era HOLY BIBLE from 1863 (New York; American Bible Society)! The book itself has been rebound in a more modern clamshell leather, probably from the early 1900s, as shown, now well maintained with minimal wear. The page edges are gilt. The Bible within is pleasantly kept and complete, with only some light browning. Binding remains firm, lacking only the front EP and only marked by a stray pencil squiggle or two in the rear. Measures 4" wide, 6.5" tall, and 2.5" thick. 9
