Thank you for viewing my auction. All my auctions start at $1.00. This is a nice, authentic Civil War State of Alabama 1863 First Issue $1 Note Cr. 1 with the vignette of the state capital building. The note also features a portrait of Governor John Gill Shorter The plain back note is dated January 1, 1863, has the green ONE overprint and is a 1st Series. Also this note states in part that it is "Redeemable in Confederate Treasury Notes" This state issued note is in VF - Very Fine condition and is a 100% crisp note that has 2 diagonal creases, 6 light and medium diagonal folds and handling crinkles. The paper has 6 small sporadic pinholes that can only be seen when held up to a strong light. Uneven L.H. edge.
