Times being what they are, it's time to part with my coin collection. I have been collecting since the early 1970's, (really the late 60's). I always bought type coins, primarily for eye appeal. I had a local coin dealer in the town I grew up in, and he and I would negotiate for days about any purchase I made. I know where every single coin came from, as each tells its own unique story. Some were also given to me as gifts, and some were even given to me by a lady on my paper route when I was little. That's a whole separate story, and I'll tell you about it when I list those coins. I purchased this coin from the dealer mentioned above in May of 1993. It has been in my possession since that day. Description: I purchased this coin primarily because of die break. This High Grade, 1863 Copper/ Nickel Indian Hd. exhibits completely original toning. The overall patina is incredible. LIBERTY on the headband is complete - and strong. There are parts of all 4 diamonds remaining. There are a couple very small spots of what looks like carbon. This is a truly nice coin.
