Commanding officers will cause to be furnished as soon as possible to this office a report of the number and calibre of the arms of their commands.II. The attention of ordnance officers is called to the fact that Weekly Returns of the arms and ammunition under their supervision are required at these Hd. Qrs. Such returns must show the number of Regiments in the command, the number of Ordnance Wagons in Reserve Train, the number of extra guns, also the amount of ammunition on hand, distributed and undistributed.III. Requisitions for Ordnance and Ordnance Stores will except in extreme cases be habitually forwarded through the ordnance officer of this Department for his examination and approval, much delay in procuring the supplies wanted being frequently caused by having requisitions that have been sent by Brigade ordnance officers, directly to Richmond, and returned to this office for endorsement.By command of Maj.
