TITLE : 1864 ENGLISH Enamelled FERN White STONEWARE JUG William BROWNFIELD of COBRIDGE Staffordshire. PARIAN Ware Interest SIZE : Height - 7.5ins. ( 19cms. ) Diameter - 4ins. ( 10cms. ) DESCRIPTION : This Fine Jug is similar to one in the Victoria and Albert Museum in LONDON. They describe it as being made from Stoneware although it is finely made in a Porcellenous white clay. It has embossed decoration of FERNS, WHEAT and VINE LEAVES. The colour is Enamelled. The Handle is in a Rope form. The base is Marked with Circle around a British Design Lozenge. ( W. B. COBRIDGE FERN ) I have included the V. & A. information. CONDITION : It has been used and has a few small wear marks and a small circular hairline crack in the base. There is slight rubbing wear to the Gilt on the wheat. Please see My Photographs!
