1870-80'S CRANBERRY-TO-CLEAR GRAPES DECORATED CUT-OVERLAY KEROSENE OIL LAMP1870-80's cranberry cut-to-clear overlay early kerosene oil lamp. Please reference Thuro book 3 for similar examples of these fine early lamps. This lovely early example has a pear shaped font, cranberry cut-to-clear, with wheel-cut decoration of grapes and vines. Cut overlay has two layers of glass; a cranberry glass top layer cut-to-clear glass beneath. Stepped marble base, with cast brass details, fine turned two tone brass stem with traces of the original gold gilt intact. 13 1/2" to the top of the No. 1 collar, the marble base 4 1/2" square. Large impressive and heavy lamp. Undamaged with no chips cracks or breaks.
