I have what I believe to be an 1870's French hand painted enamel compact on .800 silver. Compact is beautifully painted and features a scene of a young boy playing a flute for his girl. Very intricate design in the form of a lyre and bright enamel painting. Compact opens easily and includes the original beveled mirror (unfortunately which is cracked inside. The inside of the compact is stamped .800 which I am assuming refers to the silver content. I bought this compact at an auction so all of my information has come from research. If you have any info regarding the item I am open to suggestions, but I am assured this is no repro and all authentic. Please ask any questions before bidding
