1870s Robinson Horn Handle Gold Inlay Straight Razor This auction is for an 1870 time frame razor that is probably one of the first hollow ground razors. The hollow ground process was invented around 1870 and this early razor falls right into that period. The razor is stamped Robinson, Lane & Co. which was an English Cutler. The horn handle had a gold inlay which says ~Hollow Ground Razor~. In addition, the blade has a deep etching which says "Robinson's Real Hollow Ground Razor". The blade shows light use and age spots and stains but is still in excellent condition. The handle is solid, but does have an internal fissure at one of the pins on the back. A very nice early razor that will certainly make a very nice addition to any early collection. T is No Reserve. Good Luck!
