Offering an ORIGINAL copy of the HISTORY OF THE PENNSYLVANIA VOLUNTEERS 1861-65 By Samuel P. Bates. Published by B. Singerly, in Harrisburg, PA, in 1871. This 1431 PAGE FIRST EDITION is VOLUME V (5) of five. Volume 5 contains histories of the US COLORED TROOPS from Pennsylvania as well as many of the independent regiments, batteries, and companies (see list below) plus a comprehensive general index to all five volumes. The first few pages include lists of the autographs of the general officers. MAPS include: FIELD OF FORT STEADMAN and FIELD OF FREDERICKSBURG.
