1873 Nebraska Land Grant This is an 1873 land grant pertaining to 80 acres in Dakota City, Nebraska, granted to Samuel Llwellen and his heirs. The grant is signed or proxy signed by President Ulysses S. Grant, Secretary Williamson and the Recorder of the General Land Office Fisk. Fiskâe(tm)s signature is somewhat smeared. The document is dated July 1st, 1873. The grant measures approximately 12 by 19 inches and is in excellent clean condition with no rips, tears or holes. The paper is heavy stock and shows no signs of deterioration. The writing is crisp, readable and not faded. The red US document seal is bright with no bent edges. The upper right corner has a small crease and t is some discoloration on the back of the paper along the crease folds. T is a red pen mark in the upper left corner and U S Grant written in pencil on the back. T is also a shadow w the seal rested folded against the upper part of the paper. This document has never been displayed and has been stored folded in a document box.
