An original patent document, NOT A COPY OR REPRINT of US patent 143,855 issued October 21, 1873 to William S. Smoot and assigned to Remington & Sons. The is the patent for the Remington Smoot New Model No 1 Revolver. Own a piece of history. This patent has one page of artful illustration and two pages of text. During this era of the patent office, only a few lithographed copies of each patent were made to file in the classification drawers and a few for sale to the public.The pages are still attached at the bottom (that is why the photos shown might be cut off, I cannot always place the full page on the scanner). The first page of text is usually on the opposite side of the first page of the drawing. US patents are A4 size (8.25 x 11.75").
