1877 DAILY DIARY - WILLARD BROAT of LITTLE FALLS N.Y. 1877 Handwritten daily diary of Mr. Willard Brout, (a name under that looks like Manhirm), Post Office address Little Falls Herkimer Co. N.Y. Pages filled, from Jan. 1st 1877 to Dec. 31st 1877, and written in blue ink on everyday of the year the first page is the hardest to read. After you get use to his writing it's easier to read. Everyday he states the weather conditions that day and the hardships endured, the chores and who was to do them. The folks that visit, of Dr's visits, birth, death, marraiges and the charming everyday life in 1877. It seems to me that they were farmers and tell of taking care of the milk cows, gathering oats, cutting wood and milling corn. Fishing and hunting was a necessary chore. T was a fire in town, the tavern happenings, of carraige rides and more! In the back is a hat check ticket from a Railroad, and results of an election, Hiram Broat is Justice of the Piece. A real treasure for someone with this Sur-name, or Genealogy as t are many names written on these pages. This is in very good condition: Spine and binding is tight.
