1878 Sheriff's Office, Albany County, Wyoming Territory, Laramie City, Wyoming Oct. 7 1878 Witness Receipt for $8.00on atrial case, J. Cummins vs P.T. Smith. N.K. Boswell (Nathaniel Kimball) was the first sheriff in Albany County, Laramie City. The territory of Wyoming was an organized incorporated territory of the US that existed from July 25, 1868 until July 10, 1890 when it was admitted to the union as the state of Wyoming. Sheriff Boswell served as Sheriff for decades. It was truly the Wild Wild West as Sheriff. There is a lot of information about this sheriff on the internet.
