1879 Advertising Postal, Illustrations in Purple, Averill Chemical Paint Co. There are two fine illustrations on this advertising postal card from the Averill Chemical Paint Co., 32 Burling Slip, New York. At left is an image of a man painting the exterior of a period house. At right is a woman painting interior window trim. The product was called Calcicake, "an improved Calcimine in the form of cakes, made ready in a few moments by adding water." Postmarked at New York on April 8, 1879.
