Set of 5Hand Colored Egg EngravingsF. O. Morris ~ A. F. Lydon ~ Benjamin Fawcett ~ 1879 ~ More pictures follow the description. Set of five original antique wood block engravings from A Natural History of the Nests and Eggs of British Birds by Reverend Francis Orpen Morris (1810-1893) from 1879. Morris wrote the text, Alexander Frank Lydon (1836-1917) was the illustrator and Benjamin Fawcett (1808-1893) printed the plates. The collaboration of Fawcett, Lydon and Morris proved extremely successful and in addition to A Natural History of the Nests and Eggs of British Birds, the three collaborated on A History of British Birds, A History of British Butterflies, A History of British Moths and The County Seats of the Noblemen and Gentlemen of Great Britain and Ireland from 1850-1870. Condition: Any minor imperfections can be seen in the pictures. Paper: Heavy weight paper that is blank on back. Title Page: A copy of the title page will be included.
