You are bidding on an 1880 coin honoring Lord Baltimore, George Calvert founder of Baltimore, Maryland and what is now known as Washington D. C. celebrating 150 years of the founding of Baltimore in 1730. The Baltimore Ravens and the Baltimore Police have the Calvert family colors on their uniforms. Seller is descended on his mothers side of the family to George Calvert and his son Leonard Calvert the first governor of the state of Maryland.In the 1626 circa Calvert owned the entire island of Newfoundland. Calvert was educated by Robert Cecil, who handpicked King James as a replacement for Queen Elizabeth. It was Robert's father who was William Cecil the personal secretary to the first Queen Elizabeth. It is worthy to note that this was at the period of William Shakespeare who died in 1616.
