RARE 1880 GUSTAVE DORE BIBLE GALLERY PRINTS ENGRAVINGS Description: ON AUCTION is a very large format 13x10 inch classic, The Bible Gallery, Illustrated by Gustave Dore. With Memoir of Dore and Descriptive Letter Press by Talbot W. Chambers, D.D. Published by Cassell, Petter, Galpin & Company, London, Paris and New York. With dozens of fine prints by Dore, classic prints you have seen before, if you have seen any classic engravings.Bound in purple cloth decorated in gilt and black. The prints are not numbered or listed, and we are not precisely sure how many t are, but t are dozens of them. Not a perfect copy. It appears to have been stored somew damp, and t is a little staining evident. The binding is holding up well. Not common in first edition. Classic prints. Not paginated (no page numbers).
