1880 LG WOOD BRASS SCIENTIFIC VACUUM PUMP W/ BELL JAR Description This listing is for an antique vacuum pump. I believe that this pump was probably used as a demonstration tool. The pump dates to about 1880 and I believe it may have been made by Queen and Company of New York City. This is an interesting instrument and is quite large. The base measures 25 x 11" or about 63 x 28 cm. To the top of the pump with the piston be pressed, it measures 25" or 63 cm high. The base and all of the wood in this pump is mahogany.
