~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Presenting a Fancy Victorian Napkin Ring from the 19th Century! Manufactured by Rogers & Bro. of Waterbury, Connecticut! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Beautifully Inscribed: Amitie Etta! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From its sweetly sentimental inscription to its fanciful Lily Pad design; this Napkin Ring sings Victorian Era! This is a heavy Silver-Plated piece (weighs 1/2 pound) manufactured by the firm of Rogers & Bro. (They started business in 1858 and were in production till 1898.) It measures 4-5/8" from its front edge to the handle and is 2-1/4" in height. This Napkin Ring would have kept Amitie Etta's Napkin neatly from meal to meal. (Yes, before the days of paper napkins...Victorian folk used their cloth napkins for several meals between launderings.) The Napkin Ring's base is shaped like a lily pad. The curling handle ends with a water lily blossom. The holder is decorated with 'bright work' designs of flowers & vines surrounding the superbly engraved name "Amitie Etta". The piece bears the trademark of Rogers & Bro. plus Triple Plate - #168 on the base. It is in Wonderful Condition with well over 98% of the Silver-plated Surface intact. The only issue to be observed would be that the napkin's 'collar' is now slightly out of round in shape. A Lovely Memento from the 19th Century!
