Beautiful example of a rare German hand-made Two Ribbon swirl marble, probably made in the 1880's or 1890's, perhaps later based on its style. The marble has a core made up of two wide twisted ribbons opposing each other, one ribbon made up of stripes of green/yellow/green, the other with two outer stripes of deep red and a broad central translucent green stripe, nearly transparent. Surrounding the core are two groups of 8 white threads each, situated to the sides of the ribbons, one group with at least half the threads nearly lost in the making. The marble measures 19/32" in diameter. The bottom pontil is twisted, the top is regular with a central pinch, and both are fire polished, a late attribute. Wet original surface without any apparent wear as seen with a 10x lens, mint 9.8 condition. Payment by paypal only, shipping is $3.00 by USPS 1st class in the U.S. I have been selling on eBay since '97 with 100% positive feedback, so .
